Yedid Nefesh (ידיד נפש) is a traditional Hasidic Shabbat melody preserved in the Shtefanesht musical tradition. The devotional poem was written by Rabbi Elazar Azikri, the 16th-century Safed kabbalist and author of Sefer Haredim. This melody was sung among Shtefanesht Hasidim in Radautz, Bukovina. The Shtefanesht Rebbe would sing Yedid Nefesh during the third meal of the Sabbath.
