HaShabbat (השבת), meaning “The Sabbath,” is a traditional Hasidic Shabbat melody preserved in the musical tradition of Koson.

This recording features soloist Meshulem Greenberger and appears on the 2011 album Hisoreri (Hit’oreri; התעוררי), a collection of historic melodies from the Koson tradition.

The performance preserves part of the Jewish musical heritage of Eastern Europe, including traditional Sabbath music, Hasidic singing and melodies transmitted through generations of Jewish communities.
